I did a test on an heirloom tomato this year. When the baby tomato was about the size of a BB, it was a ripe tomato in 5 weeks. Cherry tomatoes should be faster.

  1. I plant about 60 different type of tomatoes every year. Under ideal growing conditions in the garden – 6-8 weeks from fruit set to ripe fruit, depending on variety. Cherry and other small fruit varieties are less time, large fruit varieties are slower. I felt that the ripen time depends on soil and weather too. You may experience the same or up to 20 days or more difference in your area.
