Ok,so I am making a recipe for lasagna.. it asks for 6 oz. of tomato sauce. Can I use Ragu pasta sauce instead, or is that a bad idea?

I would not use ragu. Homade tomato sauce will make it more rewarding =) Take it from an italian hehe..

  1. yes, it will give the lasagna a slight different taste, but in principle it’s the same

  2. it wouldnt taste as good.

  3. Use the tomato sauce, you will still a good flavor either way but regular tomato sauce is best.

  4. Home made is always best.

  5. No, not a bad idea. Could start with Ragu, and then add seasonings to taste before starting the recipe. I do that a lot so I don’t have to add a lot of seasonings and it still tastes good.

  6. Yes you can use the Ragu sauce. Tomato sauce is pretty thin so I’d use 1/2 cup Ragu and 1/4 cup of water.

If you’ve got a can of tomatoes, you could whir them in the blender or food processor and use that.

With only 6 ounces of sauce in your recipe, I think the flavor will be just fine either way you go.
