Question by CrazyJedi: what is a simple home made ketchup recipe?
I’ve got tons of cans of diced and stewed tomatoes, and tons of cans of tomato sauce. What is a simple, home made ketchup recipe I can use with canned tomatoes? Something quick and easy and doesn’t require a lot of ingredients.

Yes, I *know* ketchup is friggin cheap but why buy some if I already have the crap to make it at home with a little effort?

Because ketchup has like 15 ingredients so you don’t have the ingredients at home.

How about you make some homemade pasta sauce all you need are those cans of tomatoes a few herbs you prob already have dried in your spice cabinet and some pasta…WAY better idea and you can use much more of your stockpile.

  8. I’ll just say (partly because of Brad) that I’ve never made ketchup and don’t know how without looking it up. There’s a food truck around that has great burgers – their fries aren’t so hot. Anyway, they make their own ketchup and it’s really great. It’s VERY different from bottled. Making Heinz all over again is not worth the trouble, but if you can make a great ketchup that’s got you own mark on it, then go for it…
