You can trim it down. It also depends on the type of green beans you planted. Did you plant “bush” style or “vine” style.
You can just cut back a third of it from the top, it won’t harm the plant at all (for vine style), if it’s the “bush” kind just leave it.
It will flower when it’s ready and you’ll have LOTS of green beans.

  9. @Rajachemayel I hear you.

  10. pinch the growing tips this will cause the plant to send out lateral growth and you will probably get a bigger crop

  11. if you are staking your green beans, the you planted the vining type. next time plant bush beans. they will get about 18 inches tall and stand erect by themselves. the package will tell you what kind they are. also, about tomatos. there are 2 kinds. determinate and indeterminate. determinate type will grow 3-4 ft and pproduce most of their tomats at roughly the same time. while indeterminae will keep on growin and produce tomatos all summer. i have had some of them grow to 18ft. on a fence, ask at the garden center . the type should be on the package or the plant tag.

  12. You don’t say where you are. I would suggest finding the last frost date for your zone. I’m in OH, and I can’t even think about planting beans until Mother’s Day. It may be worth it to toss them and start new.
