Question by carmack: Small tomatoes whats wrong?
I grow my tomatoes in large pots. using potting soil. even though i fertilize every 10 days, they ripen before they are full size. just a little bigger then cherry tomatoes. (early girls and roma’s) I water often so they do not dry out. What am i doing wrong.

  1. it can be stunning:)

  2. Simplicity always tastes good:)

  3. You need some rain water or well water…..We are all having the same problem…No rain …No big tomatoes

  4. It could be the plants were marked wrong and you are actually growing cherry tomatoes. It could be it is too hot and the fruit is not growing properly because of the heat. Or it could be that the plants are just not getting enough nutrients. Try fertilizing more often, but dilute the fertilizer more, so the plants are getting a steady feed. Make sure you are using a fertilizer that is a good formulation for tomatoes, and use an organic liquid if possible.

  5. It is late in the season for tomatoes. If you are having the hot hot weather and drought like most of us are having, you are lucky you have small tomatoes.
Tomatoes do not like heat above 90.
