Question by zweiundzwanzig: When you pick a tomato from the leafy part, do you leave that vine it grew on there, or do you clip it off?
Okay, I have been growing red robin tomatoes, and margo tomatoes and I’m very new at all of this, actually this is my first time with tomato plants. Now when I take the tomato from the vine that it grew on, do I keep that vine there or clip it off??

Leave it. Presumably you are not going to pick the only tomato that is growing.

  1. You leave it there. But….it’s a good idea to cut off some of the suckers. Suckers are the brachers that have no flowers on them. Don’t cut them all off just a few here and there. It’ll leave more nutrients for the branches with flowers.
    Good Luck!
