Question by Autumn: Top ten things to do with tomato soup?
What are some simple, yet yummy, things to do with tomato soup? For example, topping it with cheese, or using it in chili, etc. And I am already aware of how good it tastes with grilled cheese 😉 So, what are some new, bold ways to enjoy tomato soup?

A new, bold way to enjoy tomato soup is..to eat it!
Really, tomato soup is boring, put some crackers on it.

  1. TOMATO SOUP CAKE

    2 tbsp. Crisco
    1 whole egg
    1 cup sugar
    2 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon each ground cloves and nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1 teaspoon pure vanilla
    1 cup raisins and/or nuts
    1 can condensed tomato soup
    1 teaspoon baking soda, mixed with 1/2 cup water

    Combine water, baking soda and soup; reserve.
    Cream shortening with sugar, adding sugar in stages then add egg. Sift all dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture.

    Blend in soup mix and vanilla.

    Bake in a greased cake pan 350°F for 45 minutes.

    TOMATO SOUP SALAD MOLD

    1 tbsp. gelatin (1 env.)
    2/3 c. tomato soup (heated)
    8 oz. cream cheese with pimento
    1/2 c. celery
    3 tbsp. green pepper
    2 tbsp. grated carrot
    1/4 c. cold water
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    2 tbsp. cream (whole milk will do)
    1/4 c. cucumber or dill pickles

    Dissolve gelatin in cold water dissolved in heated tomato soup. Cool slightly. Stir in mayonnaise, cream cheese and cream. Place in refrigerator. When gelatin mixture starts to harden a little, stir in veggies, cut up fine. Place all in mold.
    Serve on bed of lettuce or cottage cheese in middle if desired. This mold goes well anytime, Christmas or summer picnics

  2. Not sure how bold it is, but:
    Brown one pound of hamburger, drain it, ad salt and pepper. At the same time, boil a box of mixed vegetables, and brown some onions, one small, or half of a large.. Drain the veggies and the onions, and pour them into the same pot with the hamburger.. Add one can of tomatoo soup, a couple tablespoons of ketchup, and warm it through. Serve with biscuits.

  4. Styree has some great suggestions. Here is one of my favorite recipe using tomato soup. My family is not to crazy about tomato soup but love this meal. =0)

    Hamburger Pie
    1# ground beef
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    2- 16oz cut green beans, drained
    1- 10 3/4 oz condensed tomato soup
    1/4c. of water
    salt and pepper to taste
    3-4 med potatoes, peeled and quatered
    1 beaten egg
    milk
    1/2 c. shredded chedder cheese
    Cook hamburger and onion till meat is browned and onion is tender; drain off grease.
    Stir in beans, soup, water and season with salt and pepper.
    Place mixture in a pan.
    Cook potatoes in salted boiling water about 20 min or until tender; drain. mash while hot; stir in egg. Add enough milk to make potatoes fluffy, yet stiff enough to hold their shape. Season with salt and pepper.
    spread potatoes on top of meat mixture. Sprinkle with cheese.
    Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
    makes 4-6 servings

    I also like adding some macaroni and cheese to my tomato soup.

  6. you can make stuffed peppers and cook them in the tomato soup.
    precook rice, precook onion + garlic+ mushrooms, in a bowl put all ingredients together by adding cubes of dried peers, cubes of fresh peach, cubes of tomato’s and celery. herb with salt, pepper, oregano, onion powder, dill, thyme.(optional is to precook some minced meat and add that to the mix).
    cut out the top of the paprika and fill with the filling. put in a big pot, close together and cover half with tomato soup. cook for 20-30 minutes…
    really tasty and kids love it.
