i am making this salad for my mom as a little suprise. i was just wondering if it is ok to eat tomato seeds because i am making a cucumber and tomato salad and i’m not sure if i should take out all of the seeds.

  5. Of course you can eat the tomato seeds. Never heard of anyone removing them.

    it’d be very hard if you had to take all the seeds out one by one.

  7. When you make homemade spaghetti sauce, you have to blanch or parboil the tomatoes and then remove the seeds. The seeds will make the sauce a little bitter.

    That is probably where you hard that from! :)

  8. As everyone else here has posted, yes, it’s ok to eat the seeds. Some recipes will call for you to “gut” or scoop out the insides (depending on the type tomato and it’s liquid content) if you don’t want the meal too juicy. But otherwise, it’s strictly a personal preference.

  13. awww…how sweet…a surprise salad for your mom. Yes it’s fine to eat the seeds and makes the salad more tasty. The most important bit is to make sure you don’t cut yourself with the knife or hurt yourself in the kitchen. :)
