Question by NikkiSixx: What is the best small town that seems to be untouched by time, but with the comfort of modern living?
Like the town in Fried Green Tomatoes or something. But that also has modern restaurants, entertainment, shopping and etc. Or maybe even by a big city? Does this place exist?

Check out the Aunt Ruby’s German Green Tomatoes I grew this year from seed I purchased from you. Really happy with them. First time for a green variety. Thanks. Talk at you later.
This question is dumb.
Though it is correctly categorised.
Only a MYTHOLOGICAL or FOLKLORIC city could have such qualities.
There are a lot of small towns in Oklahoma and Arkansas like this…still very “untouched by time” meaning very back woods. The trick is to find one close enough to a bigger city where it would only be 30 minute drive to get to any major shopping or dining.
You would have to get used to seeing 10 year old kids walking down the road with a gun in one hand and a dead animal in the other….and that would be perfectly normal.
Go to Google earth and travel around…then go to City-data.com to learn more about the towns.
I like the town of Williamsburg, MA
It has retained a sense of romanticism that I adore.
Eureka Springs Arkansas. It’s awesome!
Oklahoma is a place like that
Ashland, Oregon
No such place exists, every town and city is affected by the rest of the world around.
Kotor Montenegro. It had people living and shopping side the walls, but it’s pretty well preserved. There were several towns in Romania that seemed less influence by Dracula’s tourism but were still decently traditional.Savannah Georgia IS touched by time (and the opening of SCAD), but retains a lot of it’s old architecture and town layout.
Venice, I feel compelled to add, is DROWNING in modern time. ;____;
In that this is the follkore and mythology section, I’d say Lake
Wobegon, Minnesota.

Paris has done a lot to try and keep that old style feel to it. Hell, when they built the Eiffel Tower everyone absolutely hated it, called it an eyesore. But they’ve gotten used to and accept it now.
Glastonbury England. Place is amazing. There is a medieval tower up on a hill, and beautiful architecture all throughout. In some Arthurian legends, Glastonbury is proposed to be the site of Avalon. King Arthur and Guinevere are rumored to be buried under the tower.
mackinaw Island, I think in Michigan
