Hi, this is the old fashioned way to make tomato soup.
1 can (46 oz.) tomato juice
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
3 beef bouillon cubes
1/2 cup boiling water
3 peppercorns
1/2 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. leaf basil
1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
3 tbls. sugar
2 whole cloves
1 tbls. chopped celery leaves
Stir all ingredients together in pot. Cover and cook on low.
If thicker soup is desired, turn to high setting and remove lid for the last 1/2 hour of cooking.
Strain before serving.
6 servings (about 1 1/2 quarts.)

Heehee. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! I should make some this week again. So yummy on these chilly evenings.
My only complaint about this video is that I’m now STARVING, and I won’t be able to make this soup until I get home in a few hours…lol.
I have the link in the description of the video, which hopefully works. You basically put in your double-U double-U double-U dot facebook dot com /AMomentWithRachael Hope that helps!
I TRIED LOOKIN YOU UP ON FACEBOOK BUT NOTHING
Looks good, I’m going to try that tonight.
I’m so sorry. I have been buying/selling things from thrift stores, but really miss my dumpster finds. I did find a really cool shelf dumpster diving this week and a few Halloween decor finds last week. I don’t find things the same way they do in Florida, because I live in a far smaller city area. The neighborhoods haven’t had anything when I look. Michigan also had a lot more in neighborhoods. I do have a small video I need to upload from one dive.
I like your cooking videos but when are we going to see some more dumpster videos? I know you said everyone had others had found out you area. What about what The Bigger Hammer does,? The soup looks delicious!
yummmy so gonna have to make this one! Sorry long time no see will explain in a message but good to see you again!

MMMMM.. I love tow ma toe soup.. Looks pretty easy to make. You explain things well
Looks very yummy,love home cooking.
Thank you for sharing ,as the weather is getting cold out here, I will definitely be making that.!!!.
Yummy, all you need is a grilled cheese sandwich and you have a perfect winter meal.
Same way you would make it today. Make a white or cream sauce(melt butter, add flour and cook on medium heat for 3-5 minutes, slowly add milk, water or cream or all 3 and whisk to combine ), add tomatoes and seasoning. If you want other vegetables, stir-fry them beforehand and add later. The tomatoes can be in the form of fresh tomatoes diced and cooked a bit first, canned diced tomatoes, pureed tomatoes, tomato sauce or tomato paste. All you need for this is one burner, a pot, a whisk.
Okay, I’ll take pity on you and give this recipe from my old Joy of Cooking, first published 1931. Not exactly the method I described above but gives soup just the same
