Question by mendnjoe: Where can I get a tomatilla plant?
I’m not sure if I am spelling that right, but the green tomatoes w/the husks around them. I couldn’t find any this summer anywhere and I can’t find the seeds either. I would appreciate information on the plants or the seeds. I know where to get the actual tomatillas at the store, but I want to grow them myself. Thanks so much!

Go to the store and buy a couple of big really ripe tomatillas, take them home and smash them on the ground. The seeds will take root and grow. The tomatilla is basically a weed and getting them to grow is no real trick.

It’s too late in the season for them, now. You might try a nursery or a Mexican market. Wikipedia says that the plants are “highly self-incompatible” so you need at least 2 plants for cross pollination to take place.
