Question by PinkSkyCloud: Can I grow anything edible from the covered porch of an appt. complex in the south?
It’s generally always sunny except if it rains but I can’t say the sun hits the porch directly. I’d love to grow something edible herbs, cherry tomatoes, strawberries…is this possible? Any suggestions or tips?

Any of those would work well. The strawberrys and the cherry tomatoes may need more sun, can they get the sun if they were place in like planter boxes on the outside wall or hanging planters, just remember that the hanging planters need lots of water. Lettuce is quick and easy to grow. Do not put pots in the ledge, the wind will knock them off — my poor tomatoe plant was blown off my ledge 3 times, even though it was in a 12″ terra cota pot.
