Question by wesellboxes: What’s the best way to pre-make a large amount of homemade Bloody Mary mix?
The place where I get my favorite bloody mary’s always pours everything but the vodka from a big bucket they mix themselves, and I was wondering if anyone had any good recipes for a large batch of bloody mary mix (Yes, I know I could multiply the ingredients I already have but I’m not sure thats all there is to it), and suggestions of what to mix it in.
Also, it’s gotta be vegan (which just means no clamato or worcestshire sauce), and I don’t want to use any kind of other pre-made mix, just tomato juice. Thanks!
Thanks everyone, but my real question is how much to use of each. my main concern is the amount of horseradish to use in say 4 cups of tomato juice.

Pour out a Magum bottle 1.75Lt into a pitcher, open a small 6-oz can of tomato juice and spices enjoy.
What do you think? Answer below!
Here’s how I do mine…
a large can of tomato juice
celery salt (to taste)
garlic salt (to taste)
louisiana crystal sauce (to taste)
salt and pepper (to taste)
mix and chill – you can freeze this too if you make a lot of it…
I make this instead of buying the spicy V-8 – I don’t add the vodka, b/c I don’t like bloody mary’s – but when I make them for friends, they love the mix I make.
Enjoy!!!
when you make your mix…dont add the vodka until your ready to drink it…this will make the mix keep longer…..so use V-8 or tomato juice….. a little tobasco….a dash of pepper….maybe worchtesheer…to taste…then add the vodka when ready…per glass is the best
Start with a large can of tomato juice
Add the following to taste:
Celery seed (ground)
Sea or kosher salt
fresh ground pepper
Cholula or other favorite hot sauce
Some people add A sauce, that isn’t the real name, it is Angustino or something equally long, but I’m not sure it is vegan. A little of this goes a long way.
A good bloody mary mix is very personal, some like it spicy, some like it hot, some like it wimpy.
Since you are starting with a large can, you can add 1/4 cup of the spices to start, then adjust.
