Question by Will’s Mom: Any luck preventing dead grass spots where the dog goes and adds too much nitrogen?
It is not a pH issue, so please leave out any tomato juice suggestions…We have tried watering the area right after he goes–but that doesn’t seem to help either. He eats Royal Canin adult, large breed food. Perhaps changing food might help?
Yep…I was wondering about the grass type-it is Kentucky Bluegrass. We might try the lime

Nope, doesn’t work. Just have to reseed the area. I rotate where my dog goes so that one area doesn’t get to saturated. Gives the grass in one area a little time to heal.

  1. try buying a bag of lime and spreading on your lawn before a good rain. (walmart) also they make stuff that you can give your dog. or special sprays to spray on your lawn you can find the stuff at about any pet store. Lime is the cheapest way we have found.

  2. I think it’s your grass. We have Bermuda grass in most of our backyard and there are no spots. Then recently we bought some grass pallet-things of Zoisa (sp?) for one area and it turns yellow in that area. Looks horrible because our yard is full and green mostly, then that one area is covered in yellow spots. We would have bought Bermuda grass but they were out of it…
