looking to make some kind of stuffed-shells type thing and need a recipe

1/2 lb lean ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork or pork sausage
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
2 cups spaghetti sauce
1 10 oz packeage frozen spinach(cook squeeze the water out very well)
1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
1/2 (225 g) package manicotti or shells
Directions
1 Combine ground beef, pork, onion, and garlic. Fry until ground beef is no longer pink. Remove from heat. Drain grease.
2Combine 1 cup cheese, spinach(drained and squeeze)eggs, salt, and Italian seasoning. Add to the ground beef mixture and mix well.
3Cook manicotti or shells according to directions on box and set aside. (1/2 pkg. is 6 manicotti).
4Stuff meat mixture into the cooked manicotti.
5Spread a small amount of the sauce on the bottom of a 9″ X 13″ baking dish. Put stuffed manicotti in dish. Pour spaghetti sauce over them. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup cheese.
6Cover with foil.
7Bake in a preheated 375F oven for 20 minutes.
8Remove foil and bake 5-10 minutes more to brown top.

    INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
    1 (16 ounce) package jumbo pasta shells
    4 cups large curd cottage cheese
    12 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
    1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    1 pinch garlic powder
    1 teaspoon dried oregano
    1 teaspoon dried parsley
    1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    DIRECTIONS
    Cook shells according to package directions. Place in cold water to stop cooking. Drain.
    Mix together cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, eggs, and garlic powder. Rub the dried herbs in the palms of your hands to pulverize them, and stir into the cheese mixture. Stuff mixture into the shells.
    Spread 1/3 of spaghetti sauce in the bottom of a 15 x 10 inch pan. Place shells open side up, and close together in pan. Spread remaining sauce over top, and sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
    Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 to 35 minutes, or until bubbly. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

  2. Make a cheese mixture out of the ricotta, mozz, parm and spinach. if the spinach. It the spinach is canned you will need to squeeze the liquid out. Also add 2 eggs and salt and pepper. Cook your pasta then fill the shells and line them in a sprayed pan. Coat with sauce and top with diced tomatoes. No exacts are needed.. you can’t really mess this up. bon appetite

    oh yeah… forgot the obvious, bake at 350 for 45 mins or so. You could save a bit of shredded mozz for on top

  3. PASTA SHELLS WITH RICOTTA CHEESE
    STUFFING

    1 (16 oz.) box lg. shells, cooked
    1 lb. Ricotta cheese
    1/4 c. diced Prosciutto, cooked
    Ground veal or spinach
    1 egg, lightly beaten
    2 c. hot tomato sauce

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat Ricotta, Prosciutto and egg together in a large bowl. Stuff approximately 2 tablespoons of the cheese mixture into each shell and place in a baking pan. Cover with aluminum foil and bake 15 to 20 minutes. Arrange shells on serving plates and pour hot sauce over.

    Pasta Shells Florentine

    1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach,
    thawed, and well drained
    1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
    1 cup ricotta
    1 egg (or just 1 egg white)
    1 Tablespoon Parmesan cheese
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    (don’t skip this – it really improves the taste)

    16 Jumbo pasta shells (for filling)
    cooked and drained

    1 Jar (32 ounces) spaghetti sauce

    Heat oven to 375F. Mix spinach, mozzarella cheese, cottage cheese, egg, (or egg white) Parmesan cheese and nutmeg until well blended. Fill each shell with a heaping Tablespoon of spinach mixture. Place in a 9 x 12 baking dish that has been sprayed with release spray (Pam). Spoon sauce over the filled shells. Cover with foil.

    Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

    Serve with grated expensive Parmigiana Reggiano.

    Makes 4 servings

  5. Spinach Stuffed Shells

    1 package (16 ounces) jumbo pasta shells
    4 tablespoons butter
    1 medium onion, chopped
    6 ounces frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
    1 container (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
    1/4 cup chopped fresh basil or 1 tablespoon dried basil
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 jar (16 ounces) marinara sauce

    Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a large baking dish with vegetable cooking spray.

    Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and rinse with cool water; drain again. Dry pasta in a single layer on paper towels.

    In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion; cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in spinach. Cover; simmer, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes. Transfer spinach mixture to a large bowl.

    Add ricotta, basil, eggs, Parmesan, mozzarella and salt to spinach mixture; mix well. Using a teaspoon, carefully stuff shells with cheese mixture.

    Spoon some marinara sauce in prepared baking dish. In a single layer, arrange pasta in dish; pour remaining sauce on top. Bake until cheeses are melted and bubbly, about 30 minutes. Transfer pasta to individual serving plates, spooning sauce over and around pasta.

    Brown 1/2 lb spicy sausage and 1/4 chopped onion, and drain.
    Meanwhile, boil the shells as directed on the package, and drain, and dry a bit.
    Mix 8 oz ricotta cheese, 8 oz mozzarella cheese, 1 tsp basil, and the drained sausage mixture.
    Spray a 9 X 13 baking pan with Pam.
    Stuff each shell with the filling mixture, place in pan.
    Cover with a jar of good spaghetti sauce, and sprinkle another 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese on top.
    Bake for 25 mins., covered
    Remove cover, sprinkle 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese on top, and bake 15 mins more
