Take 1/4 to 1/2 the bean mixture and blend it in a blender until smooth…add it back into the pot and simmer total contents it should thicken up.

too good for…:)
anytime something has to much liquid it can be reduced by boiling it away. if that does not work, then you can stir in tomato puree.
Leave the lid of the pot off and cook it down slowly, so the liquid evaporates. Don’t forget to stir so it doesn’t stick.
cornflour is the best thickener but any other flour will do. If you have a Natural yogurt that may work as well.
Sheri, I have a question for you? You mixed the beans and rice together, I mean are you cooking it together? I’m from Houma, Louisiana and I cook red beans and rice all the time. I don’t cook it together though. I cook my red beans in one pot and cook my rice in a rice cooker or in a separate pot on the stove top. Can you add to your question and answer me and I’ll try to help you out.
simmer it
Beans and rice have natural starch.
If you cook them long enough it will be thick.
How to know.
The beans should be very soft, so is the rice.
off the heat.
once it cools abit, the starch will thicken as it cools.
