Question by Heather: Creamy smoked cheese & sun dried tomato sauce from an Olive Garden dish?
My favorite dish at The Olive Garden is Ravioli D’portobello. It is a mushroom stuffed ravioli with a creamy smoked cheese & sun dried tomato sauce. I can buy the ravioli, DiGiorno makes them, but I can’t find a recipe for the sauce. Please help!
It is amazing…I just about lick the plate clean everytime, I just can’t do that in public though!!!
It is not a very heavy or chunky sauce, it is a light orange color and is garnished with finely chopped tomatoes….boohoo…I am never going to find it.

Perhaps this sauce will do:
2 oz bacon, diced
3 oz butter, cubed
1 tsp. garlic, chopped
2 oz sun-dried tomatoes, diced
12 oz heavy cream
12 oz milk
1 oz cornstarch
2 oz grated Parmesan
3 oz smoked Gouda, chopped
3 oz mushrooms, sliced
8-1/2 oz can sliced artichokes, drained
1 tbsp. fresh rosemary, chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
* In a 3-qt sauce pan or large pot, saute bacon over medium/high heat until crisp and golden (not dark)
* Lower heat, add butter and melt
* Add garlic and sun-dried tomatoes
* Saute for approximately one minute stirring frequently (do not brown)
* Whisk in cream, milk and cornstarch. Raise heat to medium/high
* Whisk in Parmesan and Gouda
* Once cheese melts, add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil stirring continuously
* Remove from heat and let stand uncovered
1 pound ground beef, lean
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
10 3/4 ounces cream of mushroom soup, condensed
4 ounces mushroom stems and pieces, drained
3/4 cup sour cream, or yogurt
In medium skillet, brown ground beef and onion; drain excess fat. Stir in garlic salt, pepper, soup and mushrooms. Simmer covered, 15 to 20 minutes. Stir in sour cream; heat through, but do not boil. Serve over rice, noodles or chow mein noodles.
