  1. Good video. Good explanation about how it creates an unfriendly environment
for the blights. That is the key.

  2. good tip I will try it on my bell peppers and tomatoes

  3. i hope its aluminium free backing soda/powder

  4. potassium bicarbonate is a much better solution. Potassium is much more
effective to raise the pH on the surface of the leaf. Additionally, Sodium
additions to your garden are never good so i would stay away from it if you
can. Also you need to put a few drops of soap (surfactant) into this mix or
you wont get a very good coating.

  5. I had a horrible time last year with my tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. I
can’t wait to try this this season.

  6. you just need a fire hose to apply this method, blast away :<) Nice video, oil is immiscible in water so that is a no go, oil is hydrophobic so I would leave that out; otherwise the baking soda may be too alkaline for the plant, the soap alone in an organic fassion has always forked for me. I use reverse osmosis water as it is PH balanced, not to basic like the baking soda would make it. Moreover for creepy crawlers you could add some Diatomaceous earth to the mix about a tablespoon per gallon should work.

  7. yes, 2 tablespoons baking soda, 1 tablespoon oil, and a few drops of dish
    soap.

  8. It looks like you put one teaspoon of oil and two teaspoons of baking soda
into your container. Is that correct? I live in a very humid area and
copper fungicide is costly. I am excited to try this solution out!

  9. Good video. Thank You. An other organic possibility is: CleanLight

  10. Just been checking out your vids. I am a small space food grower and live
in an apartment on the Gold Coast in Australia. I decided to subscribe as I
really like to learn as much as I can and see how others are doing it it
too in different parts of the world! Happy Gardening Marty Ware

  11. powder mildew prevent mix

  12. no, if you grow corn seed that has been genetically modified ,you are still
able to grow that seed organic, meaning that the genetics of the corn seed
have nothing to do with the way its grown.

  13. Thank you so much for this, almost all our tomatoes were ruined this year
because of blight–next year we well ready!

  14. Not necessarily. You said the soybean oil is all natural therefore it’s
organic. Ummmm.. not true. I will bet you that soybean oil came from GMO.
They can put “all natural” on the container since there is not criteria
defining it. So MANY companies are putting all natural on products that in
fact DO contain GMO. It must say “ORGANIC” to be organic. You probably just
put GMO soybean oil on your plants.

  15. You are terrific! I am a retired teacher, and I say you did fantastic! I
was looking for how to clean canvass, and came upon your site. As an avid
gardener, I appreciated it too. But your content, your delivery, your
pronunciations, your “lesson” was great! Keep it up!

  16. I applied this to my tomato plants and the tips of the Leaves are now
black….anyone know what I should do for the black Leaves……..or should
I wait it out to see if they turn back green?

  17. just watched two of your videos and subscribed. thank you for keeping it
    simple and factually coherent.

  18. What can I use for my apples? Thanks great vids.

  19. I’m gonna do it with neem oil because that takes care of insects too…
What do you think? Maybe garlic oil, neem oil, dish soap and baking soda.
That sounds like a mixture to repel insects and stop fungus… Let the
    experiments commence!

  20. 1 tablespoon baking soda with 1 tablespoon oil, to 2 drops dish soao to 1
    gallon of water.

  21. then make your own video if you know exactly what is going on. and the
reason you can’t find organic baking soda, is because it is ALL organic. It
is a 100% naturally occurring element.

  22. hmmmm I think I forgot to put the oil in my mixture. Thanks!

  23. sunburn lol — thanks!

  24. So, I’ve got tomatoes that have small speckles if brown all over them. As
if some little bug has nibbled at the green leaving a tiny speck on the
leaf, stem and some of my fruit doesn’t look so good either. Is this
blight? Right now it’s not bad but leaves are beginning to curl.

  25. Just to point out for everyone, in our current sad state, the label “All
Natural” does not mean “Organic.” So, it could still mean GMO or
pesticide/fertilizer/fungicide, is was used in the product. :(
