Question by well_sht: Tomato plants?
A week ago I bought tomato plants from homedepo. Im in Texas. Now this week I noticed that they are about foot high and budding. One has a little tomato on it. And they aren’t the cherry tomatoes. Question is should I be picking off the buds or just let them be?

i think you should let them be………….the tomato plant has a nice strong pleasant smell……….it is not about the fruit but the very idea of something green thrills me too

  1. This guy’s obviously an excellent chef (sicne I’ve seen his other videos
too), but he doesn’t know how to make his dishes *look* good. Everything he
presents just looks like a big mess.

  2. just let them be why would you want to pick off the buds.

  3. Don`t pick off the buds, but do pinch out the little shoots that appear between the main branches.

  4. you must pinch the first time buds,so the plant will grow a little bit strong, then you will get more fruits.next time flowering sprinkle very very fine soft and gentle sprinkle on the flowers to get fertilize, usually fly or birds or honey bee does this work, but you have to do this will help the tree to bear more fruits.when flowers turn in to fruits then keep the soil moist to have juicy tomatoes.dry soil will turn cracks in the fruits, due to less water.and if the plants id growing fast in height then pluck the top growth so the new limbs will come out to give you more branches to bear the flowers and then fruits.
these are the tips my aunt gave me,as she grows all the fruits and veggies in pots.specially tomatoes so healthy and juicy.good luck.

  5. If you haven’t already planted them, pick them off because the plants need to develop roots before they can fruit. If they’re in the ground, let them grow.
