Question by 5155: Tomato Soup Using Canned Tomato Strips?
I don’t have any tomato puree or tomato sauce ='[

Should I use my Cuisinart or something?

Thanks for your time.
I’m not very good at cooking so you kind of need to tell me exactly how I should do it :p

  1. The salad must be really tasty, just like the one I’ve made, but the way it
looks in those white bowls is, frankly, aesthetically dubious. Also, why
use the tiny knife and why pour the salt in the palm?!

  2. sure, use the cuisinart and add 3/4 cup milk. season to taste

  3. sounds good.

  4. Here is my cream of tomato soup recipe:
6-8 tomatoes whatever kind you want boil them and remove skin and seeds
chicken stock enough to cover the tomatoes
    garlic to taste
    Kosher salt to taste
    Bacon 1/2 lb
    1 medium to large onion
Basil a good amount2 dozen fresh leaves
    1. Clean and core your tomatoes cut a cross slit on the bottom this will help peel them. Boil them in salted water until the peel starts to wrinkle. The place them in an ice bath ( this stops the cooking process).
    2. In a large stock pot start frying your bacon until crisp then set aside.
    3. Cut your onion in to thin slices and start frying until translucent to golden brown.
4.Remove all of the peel and seed from your tomatoes and cut them into cubes, place the cleaned basil leaves in a bowl with the tomatoes.
    5. Add to frying onions and mix up in stock pot with onions, Let the tomatoes and basil fry a little. The cover with chicken stock or you could use vegetable stock.
    6. Salt and pepper to taste.
    7. Bring to a simmer uncovered for at least 45 minutes.
    8. The puree with an immersion blender or regular blender. If you use a cuisinart or blender you will have to do it in stages, you won’t be able to put all of the soup in a blender at once (the heat will blow the top off of it. I use an immersion blender, they are wonderful.
    9. After you have all of the soup pureed, add a whole can of tomato paste, bring to a rolling boil slowly.
    10. If you want a very rich soup add 1 pint of heavy cream.
    11. Once it comes back to a boil salt and pepper to taste.
    12. If it is to your liking as far as consistency thin or thickness serve. If you need it a little thicker then you can add a slurry of corn starch and cold water, bring to boil reseason and serve.
