Makin’ Tomato Juice

Question by Bert: Can I add ingredients to tomato juice to make tomato sauce. ?
All I have is tomato juice and a few other spices like paprika parsley chili powder. I need tomato sauce any help.

you’ll need a thickener…thats pretty much it

(corn starch, flour)

  2. Yes, but it might be a little thin. The chili powder is fine for a Tex-Mex dish, but don’t forget to add cumin, red pepper flakes too. For an Italian sauce, ditch the chili powder and use oregano, basil, garlic & rosemary. If you’re going to simmer the sauce, add about 1 c. finely grated carrot. This adds a natural sweetener (necessary with the acidity of the tomatoes) and acts as a slight thickener

  3. Boil until volume is reduced by about one-third for thin sauce or one-half for thick sauce.

  4. You could simmer it until it reduces down.

  5. If you have a blender or food processor, throw in some black or green olives, some garlic, fresh basil, paprika (or the chilli powder if you like it a little more hot). No need to add any extra salt or pepper, the garlic and olives do that for you.
