Question by ELMO ©: Can I use tomato juice or tomato sauce for a substitute for tomato soup for meatball recipe?
I have some left over ground beef. I am soaking my rice right now to make it into a porcupine meatballs.

I have 1 small can of condensed tomato soup.

Though I will probably need more tomato liquid.

I looked through my cabinets. I have tomato juice and sauce. Which one will be a good substitute for my meatball recipe?

November 6, 2010. Quick and Spicy Tomato Soup.
Had trouble sleeping, got up and made this soup at 3am…
It really was super quick and easy to make. Very hearty. Next time I’d use less pasta to make it more "soupy". So many possibilities to modify this recipe.
Now, back to bed…

  1. Either one will work but if you use the sauce add one can of water as well.

  2. tomato juice is too thin, and sauce is too thick. Mix a little sauce with the juice. It might taste a little funny, but it will be okay.

Carmac: It will be WAY too watery.
