Question by criticalcatalyst: Hydroponic cherry seed starting?
I haven’t found a satisfying answer, so I figured I’d throw this out there.
I was looking at starting some cherry trees from seed. I know that I’m not likely to get the same fruit, but I enjoy cherry blossoms in the spring. For the most part, these seedlings and saplings will be tree-house grown until ready for planting.
I was wondering if I could soften and start the seeds in water, and then plant them after the roots start. Post-dormancy, of course. The other idea may simply be going around and seeing if there are any volunteers from other cherry trees, but attempting to transplant them never seems to go well.

Can’t see the seeds wanting to germinate in water. Keep the soil warm. Be very careful with the roots when transplanting. Add some root stimulator.
