in tomato bruschetta would the main ingredient be the tomato or bread???
if tomato isnt the main ingredient can u suggest a recipe were tomato is the main ingredient

Tomato is the main ingredient of the original bruschetta.

Tomato bruschetta recipe

Recipe ingredients:

1 loaf italian bread, halved lengthwise then cut crosswise diagonally, into 1-in slices
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 large tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
Recipe method:

Toast the bread under the broiler until lightly browned.
Combine the garlic and olive oil and brush over one side of the bread.
Spread the tomatoes over the bread.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Broil for about 30 seconds to heat the tomatoes.
Sprinkle with basil and serve.

  8. Bruschetta refers to a topping for toasted bread…so tomato Bruschetta, would probably work but if not here is a recipe for

    Fresh Roasted Tomato Sauce:

    2Tbls. olive oil
    6 ripe tomatoes – halved lengthwise
    salt and pepper – to taste
    3 cloves garlic – minced
    1/3 cup olive oil
    10 fresh basil leaves – shredded

    -Coat bottom of a baking dish with 2 Tbls. olive oil.
    -Arrange tomato halves, cut side up, in pan.
    -Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then press minced garlic into each tomato half.
    -Drizzle 1/3 cup olive oil evenly over tomatoes.
    -Bake in a 375 degree oven for 2 hours, basting every 1/2 hour with the drippings in the pan.
    -Remove tomatoes from pan and chop into small pieces.
    -Remaining in the pan should be some juices with burned bits. Scrape burned bits from the pan and mix into the other juices.
    -At this point, you can either freeze sauce or serve tossed with cooked pasta.
    -When serving, toss with shredded basil.

    Cut off the top of a tomato and scoop out insides, This will be your serving “bowl”
    Mash up avocados, with TOMATOES, a little onion, cilantro and lemon juice and salt and pepper, and you have a yummy dish. You can serve it with spooned out tomato wedges and tortilla chips.

  11. The bread is just the base… the flavour comes from what’s on top. My bruschetta recipie is as follows…

    Turkish Bread (sliced)
    Balsamic Vinegar (everyone has forgotten this but it is the best ingredient!)
    Olive Oil
    Garlic (can be mixed into the olive oil)
    Diced Tomatos
    Basil (shredded)
    Parmesan (optional)

    Toast your bread.
    Cover one side of the bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. If the garlic hasn’t been infused into the oil, then wipe it across the bread.
    Mix together the diced tomatos and basil and place on top of the bread.
    Crumble some parmesan cheese over the top and serve immediately.

    Works a treat every time! Yum!

    If you want something else based on tomatos why not a tomato soup? Or stuffed tomatos? Or a tomato bolognaise sauce? Even a tomato pizza?

  12. BRUSCHETTA CON POMODORI (GARLIC BREAD
    WITH TOMATOES)

    6 slices crusty Italian bread, halved crosswise
    1 lg. garlic clove, crushed and minced
    4 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
    6 lg. firm ripe tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
    Salt and pepper
    1/4 c. minced fresh basil leaves
    1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar, or to taste

    Preheat the broiler. Arrange the slices of bread on a baking sheet and broil 5 inches from the heat until lightly browned. Turn and brown the other side. In a small bowl, combine the garlic, and 3 tablespoon of the olive oil, and brush the mixture on one side of the bread slices. In a skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat, add the tomatoes and salt the tomatoes are just heated through. Stir in the basil and vinegar. Top the toasted slices with the tomato mixture. Serves 6.
