Question by : Beer & tomato juice – has anyone ever had this combination?
I lived in Rantoul in the mid-70’s and one of the locals I used to go to used to serve pitchers of…. yep, beer & tomato juice.
Has anyone ever had this? Who in blazes ever came up with this combo?
Need to tell you that I got to liking it. Now a days, when ever I’m hot and want something cold I take my time a prepare one of these and do it up like a Bloody Mary. Don’t knock ’til you’ve tried it.

NO
Yes, a couple of ounces of tomato juice in a glass of beer takes the edge off
This is a staple here in the Midwest. Try it with a few green olives dropped in. Or, try it with Clamato or V-8, Hot and Spicy.
I drink this in great volumes when it gets into the 100 degree F summer time heat out here.
Nothing better in the world than a bloody beer. All of the foofy drinkers out there will poo-poo this but it doesn’t melt like a margarita, won’t slap you around like a strong Bloody Mary and quite honestly tastes better.
