  1. Well…how are the tomato plants coming along? I have run into some insect issues (see the videos). Hope all is well, CK.

  2. Oh my gosh, sounds wonderful. Please, keep us all posted; we have some great sharing with this group. Thank you, Save. CaliKim

  3. I’ve done this many times but always love the amount of tomatoes I get. I can them in quart jars throughout the growing season. The waste from the process is boiled down to tomato paste freeze it into ice cube chunks use when needed. Also, I make ketchup this uses up a lot of tomatoes about 35lbs for one typical sized squirt bottle and you control what goes in it. This year I want to do a Butch-T Trinidad Scorpion ketchup with my tomatoes and chilli peppers.

  4. OK, go for it; I changed the settings to allow VRs. Looking forward to this and I hope everyone else views this, as well! Thanks,R71! CaliKim

  5. I do. I did a salsa video last year in fact. I fire roast the tomatoes, bell and jalapeno peppers on the grill and then mix in some really good ingredients. I’ll post a VR here so you’ll have something to do with all those tomatoes 😉

  6. Fresh garden salsa sounds so good right now! Do you have a good recipe? I definitely did overload on the tomatoes – I plan to plant half that much this year. I still have quite a few in my freezer!

  7. Wow! 30 tomato plants. That would make a LOT of fresh garden salsa 😉 I thought we made & canned a lot last season, but my three boys had it all devoured before Christmas. lol

  8. It’s ok you didn’t respond, I was not expecting a response. I have been doing the weed mulching thing only a year, but I have only been gardening seriously for 2 years at the most now.

  9. I’m trying to grow on my apartment balcony, so I just have one plant per pot.

  10. Kevin, I don’t if I replied to your comment properly b/c it isn’t showing under this thread. Sorry! Here is what I said -Thanks for watching Kevin! Hey, out of curiousity, about far apart are you putting your tomatoe plants? CaliKim

  11. HBP, Im sorry for not responding. Sometimes, comments get all rearranged and I can’t tell who I’ve replied to or not. I am so sorry. Very interesting that you mulch your weedy plants. I hadn’t thought of that. How long have you been doing that now? Thanks for watching! CaliKim

  12. Hey Ranger Rich. Thanks for sharing with all of us. Ya’, packing them in is not always the best thing-CK

  13. Ya I still have that tendency planting to close. Usually when sowing small seed. Lettuce broc etc. I go with what farmers space now. Seed packets usually say to sow way too close. Its hard when ya only have a little space. Names rich by the way. I was army. Been gardening 25 years

  14. Great suggestion and lucky you to get that material! I am definitely planting my tomatoes along your dimensions this year. Thanks a lot! You are very helpful as you have commented on a few of my vids, thank you : ) CK

  15. Great video!! I plant my tomatoes 3 feet apart in rows 4 feet apart. At my place of employment, we can sometimes get used forming fabrics – black seamed polyurethane stranded fabric.. I simply cut holes out and plant the tomatoes in the holes, No weeding and water goes through the material…

  16. My big learning moment was learning I can mulch beneficial weedy plants that overgrow my other plants. Seems so simple now.

  17. @Kevin McDougal Thanks for watching Kevin! Hey, out of curiousity, about far apart are you putting your tomatoe plants?
