Question by Wally: What temperatures are too cold for young tomatos plants?
Are low 40s cold enough to cause damage or stunt growth for young tomato plants? It will only be one night, and lows will reach 43 (highs generally 60s and up).

Anything below 45 degrees is too low for tomato plants especially a young plant. Try to cover your plant for the night.

  4. I usually wait until night time temps are in the 50’s consistently before planting my tomatoes. 43 won’t kill them but it might set them back a bit. They like warm weather, hot even and cool temps make them stop growing for a bit.
