  26. I’ve made this and it’s great. I usually go a little heavy on the lemon juice, just a wee bit more than called for…

    Hummus

    4 garlic cloves
2 cups canned chickpeas, drained, liquid reserved
    1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
    1/3 cup tahini (sesame paste)
6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)
2 tablespoons water or liquid from the chickpeas
    8 dashes hot sauce

Turn on the food processor fitted with the steel blade and drop the garlic down the feed tube; process until it’s minced. Add the rest of the ingredients to the food processor and process until the hummus is smoothly pureed. Taste, for seasoning, and serve chilled or at room temperature.

  27. 1 can of chickpeas Reserve 1/2 the liquid
    1 med/large red pepper
    4 cloves garlic
about 4 tablespoons of Extra Virgin olive oil
    salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup roasted pine nuts finely ground
    1 teaspoon of lemon juice
    1 teasppon of parsely

Roast red pepper and cloves of garlic in oven at 350 drizzled with olive oil until soft and starting to carmelize. You want to see a couple of black spots on the pepper.
Peel away skin and seeds from the pepper and slice into fine strips and mash your garlic to get it started.
In food processor grind your chickpeas add the 4 tablespoons of oil cup until it’s the consisancy you like, add reserved liquid if needed to thin even more, it might be a bit more or less add salt, lemon juice, parsley, pepper and pine nuts. There you go. enjoy
Sorry about the corrections, I was trying to remember it off the top of my head. It’s really good on a bagel with just a bit of cream cheese, tomato and lettuce, YUM! And I don’t even like red pepper!

  28. one can of garbanzo beans
    two tablespoons of minced garlic
    lemon juice
    salt
    sesame oil

Mix it in a food processor. Add enough lemon juice and salt to your liking and enough sesame oil for your preferred texture.

  29. tried and tested. so good.
