Question by Anonymous: Do you HAVE to add milk or water to tomato soup?
Do you have to add milk or water to tomato soup? I like to have a half cup of tomato soup and 1 piece of toast for dinner. I don’t like to consume many calories and it’s already 220 for a half cup of soup and a slice of toast. I know that soup is condensed and milk and or water makes it creamy but I like tomato soup the way it is after being heated in the microwave. Is it unhealthy to eat it without milk or water?

Dont add anything if you like it the way it is.

my mother makes this, but she adds hot dogs to the soup… calls it “rice n wienie soup” lol… I can’t stand it. I’d rather use a good smoked sausage.
The Chef has the most amazing eyes i’ve ever seen O.o
In my country tomato soup with rice is probably the most popular ways of serving it 😀 Thanks for this recipe 😉
Oh and can I add some chopped potatoes?
Umm can I use the tomato sauce that I made my own?
Ok
I’ll be uploading a new Tomato Soup recipe video in a couple of days that I bet you will love – stay tuned 😉
Thank you for this recipe, i was looking all over for a tomato soup recipe. My mom use to make it for me when i was young mostly when i had the flu. Tell me can i ad some chicken and patato in soup also? Just love your chanel on youtube.
hey man i like your videos, real simple and clever recipes for people such as myself. I tend to use tinned tomato soup instead of the spaghetti stuff though. Irrelevant but you have eyes like the bad guy in a video game, not a bad thing just saying. Definitely subscribing!
Totally irrelevant and I apologize for that, but you have really pretty eyes.
great stuff! my wife died last year, so i am trying to learn how to cook. never cooked before, my wife did all the work. this soup gets me by! thanks bob.
Very smart.
Consider chicken broth instead of water.
And BAM!
very nice. i lost the love of my life, my wife of 18 years. she died at age 38, she cooked everything, i did not even know how to turn on the stove. i’m learning. thanks to you, and my neighbors, i’m getting thr hang of it. thanks for your video.

I just tried making this and it turned out great!! Thanks alot David from a fellow Aussie 😀
omg i use to make this all the time i thought of it my self haha well i used tomato soup with herbs and rice fancy that ay :p
i think orzo pasta would be good too
i made soup with very shortly cut thin spaghetti instead of rice. number 12 or something
no meat? its just a carb bomb.
Would it be possible to use spiced up diced tomatoes instead of spaghetti sauce. I know this question must sound stupid. I am not experienced at the kitchen and I am looking for a healthy/lower calorie alternative (since living on my own, all I have been eating is Pizza – $5 little caeser’s large size…. and put on quite a pounds)
great recipe! a celery stalk and a small onion would sure improve it but it will make it more “complicated” and add to the preparation time. cheers!
i’m gonna try this tomorrow!!! my baby sis will love it! n i really love rice!!! sound delicious! looks delicious!! my mouth is all watery! n its super easy!! >.<
No
I make tomato soup vegetable stock in water never add milk .. only difference will be less calories with water and more liquid
You can use either or a combination, as it will make the taste stronger. Use water as it will taste better The calories are based on it watered anyway. In fact you will probably having 440 cal as they will be concentrated.

Here’s the best tomato soup I’ve tried (and made before):

But if you are referring to the canned soup, just add water. It should stay creamy as long as you don’t add too much (like more than 50% of the what’s in the can).
But I think you’ll find homemade is much better and you can make it in bulk 😉
