Question by KARIN W: Looking for a good crockpot soup recipe? Any ideas?
Interested in any soup recipe for the crockpot….chili, chicken noodle, etc…..any recipes would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!
I know that I can go to all the “cooking websites” and look up recipes. But I want “tried and true” recipes that I know other people like.

  15. Just made a great stew over the weekend. Brown a pound of stew meat and dump the cooked meat into the crock pot.

    Add various vegetables: I used potatoes, onion, corn, green beans, and carrots. Add a 29-ounce can of tomato sauce, a few shots of tabasco or other hot sauce, and whatever spices you like. Fill with tap water to cover the meat and veggies.

    Let it simmer on high for about 8 hours or low for 10-12. It will taste even better the next day as leftovers.

  16. TACO CHOWDER

    1 pound ground beef or turkey
    1 (1 ounce) pkg taco seasoning mix
    1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes, do not drain
    1 (32 ounce) can refried beans
    1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
    1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn, do not drain
    1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans, do not drain

    (1) Brown and drain ground beef or turkey. Add taco seasoning mix
    and stir. Transfer to crockpot.
    (2) Add remaining ingredients and cook on high four hours or
    low eight hours.

  17. YOU POOR THING crocing is the best way to make a lot of good food. Easy way is to put some meat (any kind even ground beef) 1 cup on bottom If you have time brown in a pan until done with onion) if no time, put meat on bottom, then onions, carrots and poaotoes on top salt and pepper turn on high for 20 minutes then low and 8 hours later good stuff oh don’t forget 1 or 2 c water. by the way, you have the enternet, just put crockpot and you will get a whole bunch oh yes, if you want to put noodles cook to directions and add.

  18. soup bone with lots of meat on it or chicken or whatever you are going to cook.

    add in a couple large handfuls of pearl barley, a little salt and pepper
    and for chicken – sage
    for beef – oregano

    fill crock nearly full of water if meats are frozen turn to high til it starts bubbling.

    fish out meat when tender and separate out the bones. dice meat and toss back in

    dump in a package or 2 of frozen stew vegetables
    or
    1 cup diced celery
    1 cup sliced carrots
    2 cups potatoes, cut in small cubes
    1 medium onion diced
    optional additions: up to
    1 cup bell pepper diced
    one pod any sort of chile, seeded, veined and diced
    cook til carrots are tender.
    then to add dumplings:
    cut a can of biscuits in quarters and toss in.
    cook for another half hour.

  19. Harvest Soup

    2 lbs stew meat [coated with flour and browned before adding to crock pot.]
    3 potatoes -cubed
    2 carrots -sliced
    2 celery stalks -diced
    1 onion -diced
    1 cup cabbage -cut up small pcs.
    1- 16 oz. can tomatoes -chopped or 3 fresh peeled and chopped
    1 ear of corn -removed from cob or 1 can
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp pepper
    1/8 tsp garlic powder or 1 sm. clove minced fine
    1 tbsp parsley
    1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

    Add all to crock pot with enough water to cover and cook on low 8 hours.

    note: The cabbage gives it a nice flavor, any veggies you like can be added, peas, green beans, etc.
