Question by Awkward Silence: Can I cook potatoes and carrots in tomato sauce?
I know that beans don’t cook well with tomato juice or sauce, but I want to cook carrots and potatoes in tomato sauce and chicken broth, and I want to know if they will cook alright. Also, if you happen to know why beans have a hard time cooking with tomato that would be very helpful as well!

Sure. Just add the carrots first. Let them go for about 10 minutes, then put the potatoes in. Don’t want them to fall apart..

It is better to cook with finely cut fresh tomatoes than sauce, as sauce contains preservatives
