SO GLAD you said this it is true,
nor did Pollack come up with dripping , but they made it infamous, there are 4 diff. stories,his mom drew them and made flowers out of them the cans them self she would cut them in to flowers, WAS THAT THE IDEA. but it is all ilrel HE PAINTED THEM
His mother had done drawings like the soup can before he did. Saw them on exhibit at the Warhol museum.

Actually, it was Campbell’s idea. It says so right on the label.
Actually his first ideal was to use a candy bar.. but it would disapear before he could complete the work
If you’re suggesting that Warhol should have paid a royalty for an unsolicited idea that he used in his artwork, I would say no. I have used friend’s suggestions in my artwork and for exhibition projects but don’t feel as if the artwork or project is their intellectual property.
I have mentioned their contribution(s) and certainly have thanked them with a nice dinner out, though.
