I put all types of things on my salad. Really a salad can be quite versatile depending on the ingredients you may add. It can just serve as a side to a main meal, a meal in itself, or even be a little meaty with all kinds of stuff. Personally, I usually add a variety of veggies and a meat of some kind. Homemade dressings are interesting to try too.

Cesar dressing is my fav yummyyy
Steel cut Flax seed and some balsamic vinegar
I usually put croutons, but sometimes, depending on my mood some shelled sunflower seeds or toasted sesame seeds are good too.
i only eat Caesar salads if i have to eat salad. i like chicken on it. and Parmesan cheese.
If I’m in the mood for a dinner salad:
chef salad:
turkey, and/or ham (the good kind from the deli-costs more, but delicious), eggs, sharp cheese shredded, celery, parsley, great tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, topped with sunflower seeds, croutons, and either: southwestern ranch, peppercorn ranch, or creamy italian dressing.
Fried chicken salad:
Applebees is great, or:
Chicken tenders from the deli
hard boiled chopped eggs
crispy cooked bacon
lettuce,
cheese
topped with honey mustard dressing.
lettuce
tomato
onions
sweet peppers
cucumbers
carrots
radishes
calaflower
boiled eggs
shreeded ham
croutons
bacon bits
shreeded chedder cheese
and ranch dressing
lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, carrots— and the difference:
avocado, sprouts, feta cheese!
lettuce, tomato, cheese(definitely), pickles, cucumbers, ranch dressing, those tiny corn things(dont know their name), croutons, bacon bits!
unless i’m at a restaurant, i eat lettuce naked. just the leaves and it makes me feel so good. try it without all that junk weighing it down.
DRESSING
field greens, sunflower seeds, purple onions, craisins (dry sweetened cranberries), toasted nuts of some sort (pecans, almonds, pignoli), artichoke hearts, blue chz crumbles, boiled eggs, whatever I have around, really. Never the same salad twice!
I usually have a homemade salad w/ a simple homemade vinaigrette.
Basic VINAIGRETTE
1½ tablespoon Dijon mustard
¼ cup vinegar of choice
¼ cup good olive oil
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Whisk together the mustard, vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper to make a vinaigrette.
I use pumpkin seeds, pine nuts, chicken and mango, ham, beef, turkey, dry noodles, grated cheese, peppers/capsicum, olives and feta, croutons, boiled eggs, grated carrot, cashew nuts, avocado, onion, chives, bacon, tuna, sweetcorn from a tin, baby sweetcorn, beetroot, salmon, pork, goats cheese, kidney beans, french beans, new potatoes, beansprouts, alfala sprouts and watercress. Not all at once but a few of these in with lettuce, tomato and cucumber makes a boring salad exciting! Also adding your fave dressing can make a difference as well. Mayonnaise, ranch, french, salad cream, sweet chillie, olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixed with lemon juice ect… be experimental you can pretty much put anything into a salad!
I LOVE salads. I have a little something different. Any kind of lettuce. I like the prewashed bagged type. Add; extra virgin olive oil, a little sugar, ginger, garlic salt, a bit of soy sauce, sesame seeds, carrots, cucumbers, almond slivers and Asian noodles. Add chicken if you wish. Yumm!
The type of salad I would typically eat is romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, cheese, dressing and croutons.
But recently I made a Thai Beef Salad which I think tastes great!
Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, thinly sliced carrots, cucumbers, onions, and papaya (optional), bean spouts, and soy-sauce base flavor of thinly sliced beef. Drizzle with garlic sweet/sour chili dressing.
Rotisserie chicken, romaine lettuce, croutons, avocado, Parmesan cheese, bacon bits, Caesar dressing.
