Question by Casey: Does anyone have any good soup recipes for slow cooker?
I am looking to use my slow cooker a lot more so I can make soups to take for lunch everyday. I was wanting to know your favorite recipes? I know there are a lot of recipes on the internet, but I would like to know what your personal favorites are, that way I have some variety. They can be meat or vegetarian, it doesn’t matter.
Please note: Please don’t submit any chicken noodle soup. I associate that with being sick. Plus, I only like hearty soups, so no smooth pureed ingredients. I like something to chew on! LOL

Add 3 breasts and 2 thighs (or 5 breasts if you want) to a crock pot
Along with 3 cups of sodium free chicken stock, 1 tablespoon of flour, a smoked ham hock, crushed tomatoes, a finely chopped onion, salt and pepper to taste, and a bottle of beer – your choice.
An hour and a half before serving, take out the ham hock, shred the chicken, and add frozen corn and frozen lima beans (at least 0.5 cup each).

  27. Foolproof Slow-Cooker Taco Soup.

This is an extremely forgiving recipe and always gets raves from both family and friends. For family, I have to leave out the beans and green chilies called for in the original recipe (some family members are a tad finicky ), but even then, it turns out brilliantly. Likewise with the meat you choose to add: cubed chicken, ground turkey, and ground lean beef have all been great.

In addition to plenty of tortilla chips, we set out serving bowls of sour cream, chopped green onions, and shredded cheddar cheese for people to add dollops of whatever they’d like to the soup.

The original recipe can be found at http://www.food.com/recipe/crock-pot-taco-soup-40022 , but don’t hesitate to play with it or modify to your own tastes. This soup seems to work no matter what I do to it.

  28. You can’t go wrong with chicken and dumplings
half a chicken celery to taste chicken broth to taste 1 can of your favorite biscuits cut as many as you want in to quarters maybe a little salt and pepper cook till the chicken falls apart then eat
