Question by VAl: Can eating carrots and drinking tomato juice make your skin orange? its for my science class. help?
i need to know if this is true or a website i can go to to find out more about the effects that tomato juice and carrots have on your skin. need to make a lot of research its for a science project.

Yes you can make your skin turn slightly orange by eating carrots. beta carotene turns your skin a different color, but you would have to eat a lot of carrots.

  1. ye. carrots contain something called beta carotene which the body converts to vitamin A. too much of this can cause yellowing of the skin (carotinemia) as the beta carotene has a yellow/orange colour. you have to eat a hell of a lot though and its not particularly dangerous.
