Question by ae_college_girl: Do people think they dislike tomatoes when they really don’t?
I was saying once that I disliked tomatoes especially cherry/grape tomatoes. I don’t like how they pop. I like chunks of tomatoes in cooked food though. When I was talking about someone suggested that maybe I didn’t actually dislike the meat of the tomato, just the seedy liquidy part of the tomato. She said someone else she knew only liked fresh tomatoes if they scraped the seeds out. I just wondered if it was common for people to think they disliked tomatoes when they actually only disliked the seed part?

When eating, the tounge checks, for flavor, texture, temp., and amount.
There are certain food where you like the flavor, but don’t like the texture, and therefore you don’t like the food. It’s common, and in fact it could be one of the main deal breakers on what makes ‘good food.’ I mean, you wouldn’t eat soggy crackers, right? Even great chefs check for texture, not just flavor.
Sounds like you don’t like the texture.

  1. your my inspiration. ive always wanted to go on a raw food diet but i dont
know if i can with my illness(diabetes) and plus i had no idea what to eat
but now with your channel i can start!

  2. Looks yummy! I wonder why you peel your cucumbers though? Isn’t there lots
of nutrition and fibre in the peel? Thanks for the video, you’re inspiring
    as always. :)

  3. @Smileeen She has washed lettuce in her fridge ready to go for salads :)

  4. @da1sinister1 Thanks, you too! (:

  5. Is the raw vegan diet expensive? I feel like produce cost a lot, which is
    what prevents me :(.

  6. I love ripe mangos! They are seriously one of my favorite fruits. I’ll have
to try this recipe this week some time :) For those that are wondering,
mangos are pretty ripe when you squeeze them and they give way. You
definitely don’t want them to be hard or too soft; just in the middle. If
they’re totally green, then they’re way too hard as well. Gotta have some
color! That’s always worked for me; hope that helps.

  7. – using a food processor like you suggested in another vid has
revolutionized my life!! LOL I now LOVE to eat salads so much more having a
chopped salad w/veggies, rather than the large leaves in salad which always
    fall off the fork! lol

  8. @tvbokor I have to disagree. Raw fruit, vegetables and the small amount of
nuts & seeds is all your body needs to function properly. Do a little bit
more research… read The China Study… read 80/10/10. Wishing you all the
    best! (:

  9. Awesome!

  10. 80/10/10 can also be written for short as 811. It refers to the diet
proposed by Dr. Douglas Graham in his book “The 80/10/10 diet”

  11. sweet i love mango nice salad 😀

  12. @prettyinholland No! It makes me feel the opposite… relaxed, calm and the
happiest I´ve ever been! (: I´ve never met another RLFV811 who felt
depressed or anxious eating this way. (:

  13. this looks soo good! Im definetly going to try this soon!

  14. @redloveballoon yes your right! But maybe she just prefers the taste or
maybe her cucumbers aren’t organic then you want to peel them.

  15. Hi Liz, I’m vegan and my hair is thinning at the scalp? help?

  16. Do you know how to ripen a mango? In my local supermarket they sell green
mangoes, and when waiting for 3-4 days, they turn out to be not ripe at all
and even going bad from the inside.

  17. @tvbokor This is completely false! A raw diet provides your body with
everything your body needs if the person eats a wide variety of foods, in
sufficient quantities. I suggest you do some reading or watch Liz’s blood
    test video.

  18. thax…for your videos..i love the Salad

  19. mmm looks so delicious! you’re so lucky to have access to all of these
    beautiful veggies and fruits.

  20. @redloveballoon I just like to peel my cucumbers… always have! (:

  21. this is a misconception that I come across a LOT…people who require those
supplements require them for one critical reason..they DON’T EAT ENOUGH :)
People really need to understand that when you go raw, truly raw, you must
up the intake of the sheer volume* of food because fruits and veg are very
low in calories per ounce! When you consume enough* raw food (which is not
that hard, there’s just a “learning curve”when people switch to raw),
there’s no need for supplements Best to you!

  22. Love, love ,love your videos. Another recipe that I am going to make. Enjoy
the sun Liz. Spring and sun are finally coming to Ohio to. Hugs to you : )

  23. Is that a regular salad size you eat during a day or the biggest one? What
is your regular size? Like that one or maybe bigger/smaller? This looks
good but I doubt a bit if it comes to mango. I am not a big fan of it.
Anyway, I will try it. P.S. I have been to Costa Brava on holidays, I am
jealous you live there. :) I bet all the watchers are thankful for your
    tips, so am I. Cuidate

  24. Nice Video! Hope you’ll stop by our channel too!!

  25. After watching this i had to go out and buy a Mango. It just looked so
    good. :)

  26. I used to hate how they popped in your mouth too. When I went on a detox ,everything started tasting better . I eat less now , Im keeping my weight down for summer so I eat them now if that makes any sense at all . Its the truth though, lol.

  27. Well tomatoes still have their seeds and juices when you cut them up. I hate raw tomato too but love cooked tomatoes. Especially in my cast iron skillet with herbs. It just adds so much flavor and just tastes better. Also it’s been shown that tomatoes are actually better for you cooked.

  28. I really hate their texture. It grosses me out, but I can eat them when they’re blended.
