more than likely, they are available near the tomatoes in the canned veggies section–just look for them in a jar. and they really are packed in olive oil with herbs and spices.

Check your local stores’ condiment section (pickles, marinated veg, etc). Can’t miss them.
Should be able to find them in your super market. We always have them here. Olive oil is the usual packing. Seasoned olive oil doesn’t mean too much, just olive oil is fine.
search the gourmet foods section in the supermarket. Packed in seasoned olive oil means the company took the tomatoes that they dried out in the sun and packed them in jars full of seasoned olive oil.
yum……
I have seen them in the produce section at Publix (local grocery store)
hi roxy, I can get sundried tomatoes in my local supermarket. To have them packed in seasoned olive oil, would just mean they have olive oil on them that is seasoned with salt and pepper …..I think. The supermarkets usually carry a variety of this kind of stuff……good luck with your search….oh sorry I cant recomment a supermarket …Im in England…and its Tesco or Sainsburys here.
Enjoy the recipe
They are dried then packed in olive oil for flavor and to keep somewhat “pliable”(not in oil they’re somewhat tough). I’ve seen them in small glass jars around the tomato sauce section.
sun dried tomatoes are tomatoes that are dried out in the sun as the name implies. They come two ways – dried out and packed that way. Those need to be plumped up with some hot liquid.
The other is packed in oil (usually olive oil). They are kept plump with the oil so don’t need to be reconstituted.
These sound just like the ones I get at Trader Joe’s all the time. You can find them at other stores in the gourmet foods section or the place where the pickles and olives are.
The oil they are packed in is very flavorful and is good to cook or marinate other things in.
In my grocery store (Hi-Vee) they are near the fresh veggies. Their is usually a lot of dried spices, peppers, tomatoes and such. This will come in a jar. It will look something like this.
Produce dept. in the A& P or you local grocery store. I have used it and it is yummy in salads, saute’s, sauces and added to onions & mushrooms w/ steaks, burgers…etc.
sun dried tomatoes are commonly found nowadays … in any good food shop/stall
they are sold dry in packet or in containers fill with olive oil or sunflower oil
seasoned olive oil are olive oil that has been season( soak /infused with garlic/ herds/ chili/ mustard /etc) , this is to make the tomatoes have added favours to them when cooking..,,,but if you can find any of these seasoned olive oil with sun dry tomatoes.. just used normal sun-dried tomatoes in oil is either..
I use them all the time, they are near the tomato paste in my supermarket. They season them with basil and oregano, maybe garlic. They taste very good in some dishes.
In my grocery store they are located in the produce aisle along with the garlic bulbs. They are on a shelf, with plastic packaged sundried tomatoes, as well as bottled garlic in olive oil. I like Melissa’s also available at their web site http://www.melissas.com ,however I have also had Frieda and they have no sulfites. Available at http://www.friedas.com but is listed under tomatoes on the lookup not sundried tomatoes. There are other brands available, but these are the two I like most. The seasoned olive oil has salt, spices and maybe red peppers. Hope this helps. I have also used just dried sundried tomatoes, and put them in water or oil to reconstitute and added my own spices in my dish.
I found at”my” wal-mart it is on the top self by the mushrooms and tomato products Seasoned usually with garlic, salt etc…
