An idiom I go by when I cook pasta, is that the water should be “salty as
the Mediterranean”. Also: why are you trying to cut the salt? Get some bad

I don’t use salt in mine. It really doesn’t make a difference and it makes the pasta even worse for you since your not supposed to have very much salt every day. I just don’t se the point.
-fill a large pot with water and then start it boiling on the stove.
-pour in your pasta.
-let set for about 5 to 6 minutes.
-Check for softness. How ever you like your pasta.
-When gotten to you liking, strain the pasta with a strainer by placing it in the sink and pour in the pot full of water into it so that it catches the pasta and gets rid of the water
-spray the noodles with cold water so that they don’t stick together
-pour noodles back into pot when completely strained
-add you tomatoe sauce and warm over the stove if your tomatoe sauce starts cold.
and thats it! Enjoy!
Always salt the water. Not only does it help the water boil faster but it also adds some flavor. You boil the water until it is tender. Stick a fork and there and try it for God sakes. You want it done to where it isnt mushy. A little al dente doesnt hurt either.
However, if you want a REALLY good pasta, go to walmart, get a really cheap $ 3-4 wine and cook the pasta in a pot of half water/half wine with a generous bit of salt. The pasta will absorb the taste of the wine and go well with any pasta dish you make.
Yes you salt the water according to how much you are making. Remember you don’t have to add oil to the water if you don’t want to, I always put a splash of oil cause that’s the way my grandma showed me. So you wait until the water is boiling before putting in the pasta in then you let it boil usually for pasta it takes 12 to 15 minutes the best way to check to see if the pasta is done is to taste a piece of the pasta. Now in a separate pan start heating up your tomato sauce add seasonings if needed or to taste. Once your pasta is done, drain it in a strainer and run a touch of cold water over it, this is to keep it from sticking, at this point your sauce should be hot.
this will tell you the process and how much salt you put in:
