We buy or make this all the time
Traditional Bosnian Bread

Ok, so this is the bread that my mom and I always make, as far as I know it is pretty much the standard recipe for bread in most Bosnian homes, give or take a few variations.

Oh, and by the way, if you follow the recipe carefuly you should end up with really delicious bread.

WHITE BREAD RECIPE

2 tbsp yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp salt
6 cups or more of white flour
vegetable/olive oil for pan

First, combine the salt and flour in a large bowl; in a smaller bowl, sprinkle the yeast on top of the 1 1/2 cups of warm water, now sprinkle the sugar on top of the yeast, let it all disolve and rise. Mix all ingredients to a smooth dough by kneading by hand for aproximately 5-10 min, add extra water or flour if you need to, place in a greased bowl and cover with a clean cloth. Let rise to the brim of the bowl one or two times (or overnight for sourdough bread). Cut up the dough into equal amounts and shape into loaves, sprinkle with flower. Place the loaves onto lightly greased pan(s). Let rise one more time for just a half hour or so. Bake 350-400F for about 1 hr or untill the inside of the bread is done.

P.S.:
WHEAT BREAD
Substitute 3 cups of whole wheat flour for the equal amount of
white in the White Bread Recipe.

P.P.S:
Add butter or whatever, you will love it, that is my guarantee.

    ~~~ Tomato-Rye Bread with Rosemary & Garlic ~~~
    1 Loaf (about 12 slices)
    The red pigment in tomato juice colors this bread and adds the cancer-fighting power of a phytochemical called lycopene. The tomatoes also supply plenty of vitamins A, C, and E.
    ½ cup tomato juice
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 tsp salt
    ½ tsp dried rosemary, crumbled
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 envelope active dry yeast
    ½ cup warm water (105 deg F to 115 deg F)
    ¾ cup rye flour
    2 to 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
    1/3 cup finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes (not oil-packed)
    1.In small saucepan, bring tomato juice, ½ cup water, oil, salt, rosemary, and garlic to simmer. Transfer to medium bowl. Let cool to lukewarm.
    2.In small bowl, sprinkle yeast over warm water, let stand until foamy, 5 minutes. Stir to dissolve.
    3.Add teast mixture to tomato juice mixture. Gradually stir in rye flour. Gradually knead in 2 cups of all-purpose flour until dough comes together and is workable (dough will be sticky). Knead in sun-dried tomatoes. Turn dough out onto floured surface. Knead for 1 minute. Let rest 10 minutes.
    4.Knead dough on lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes, adding more all-purpose flour as needed if dough is very sticky (dough should be slightly sticky). Place dough in lightly oiled bowl. Turn to coat. Cover loosely with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
    5.Punch dough down. Lightly coat 8 ½ x 4 ½ x 2 ½ -inch loaf pan with olive oil. Place dough in pan, patting into corners. Cover loosely with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm place until doubled in volume (loaf should rise above top of pan), about 1 hour.
    6.Preheat oven to 375 deg F.
    7.Bake until loaf sounds hollow when tapped, 40 to 50 minutes. Turn out onto wire rack. Let cool completely before slicing.
    Have fun making these!
    Enjoy & good luck!…_;-)
  4. Garlic herb bread,make as you would white bread but add some garlic and oregano,and some italian herbs after the bread comes out of the oven hot! melt some butter over the top of the loaf and sprinkle with a few mixed herbs,the same ones that you put into the bread. also Honey wheat bread is very good,make original wheat bread add some honey to the inside mixture then after the bread comes out of the oven drizzle a small amount of honey on top of the bread a long with a very small amount of melted butter.
  5. Just reasearch the recipe you want online. there are many recipe sites.
  6. Sausage Bread
    “This makes a great lunch all by itself or with a salad.”
    INGREDIENTS:
    1 (16 ounce) package hot
    bread roll mix
    2 pounds pork sausage
    2 (8 ounce) packages
    pepperoni, finely chopped
    5 tablespoons grated
    Parmesan cheese
    3 cups shredded mozzarella
    cheese
    2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley
    2 teaspoons garlic powder
    1 teaspoon dried minced onion
    1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
    2 eggs, beaten
    DIRECTIONS:
    1. Prepare roll mix according to package directions, letting rise only once, about 1 hour.
    2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
    Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
    3. In a large skillet brown the pork sausage and pepperoni and drain well.
    4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage mixture, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, 2 beaten eggs, parsley flakes, garlic powder, onion flakes, and oregano. Stir until well combined.
    5. Divide the risen dough in two. On a floured board roll out one half to a rectangle about 1 inch thick. Spread 1/2 of the filling over the rectangle. Starting at the wide end roll two times then fold in the sides. Continue rolling until the end, making sure the seal is on top. Repeat with remaining half.
    6. Place rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Brush generously with beaten egg. Use toothpicks to help hold the seam shut. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  7. For an easy and different approach try your old white bread recipe and add a 1/2 teaspoon each of dried oregano and thyme and garlic powder. Then add a cup of grated cheese such as all cheddar, or white cheese such as romano or parmesan.
    Makes great sandwiches and wonderful toast.
    Tip: rub the dried herbs between your two hands into the bread flour. That helps awaken the herbs and add more intense flavor to the bread.
