Question by texstatetechie: Tips for growing cherry tomatoes?
We have 2 cherry tomato plants on our balcony in their own deep pots. One of them has about 5 little green tomatoes on it, but the other isn’t producing. Does anyone have any good ideas for getting cherry tomato plants to produce?

I’m assuming that you got the plants from a nursery, so they aren’t hybids from seeds that you happened to raise from grocery store produce. The only thing I can suggest is to keep them pruned so that the energy from the plant isnt going into forming sucker shoots

It depends on where you live..I live the the sunny deep south and I should be able to pick some tomatoes in the next couple of weeks..We are averaging temps in the high 80’s and tomatoes love sun..
If the plant has flowers, take a small paint brush and manually polinate the blooms. Take the little brush and brush across the center of each bloom without shaking off the polline.
There is also a product on the market by Fertilome called Yeild Booster. That helps tomatoes produce. Fertilome doesn’t sell to box stores so you’ll have to check with a local garden center….Good luck.
