Question by Z: Is it illegal to grow plants indoors?
Ok im growing tomatos plants (i don’t want any bugs to ever touch them lol) inside, in a modified shelf, with 205 watt of flourescent light, and a 200 watt light bulb the heat the thing, and i was wondering if i can get in trouble for doing this in the US?
Trust me there is no weed here.

Unless you can smoke those ‘tomatoes’ or get stoned making ‘brownies’ from them, you have no worries.

id recommend buying seeds from a reputable company because store bought….especially tomatoes are usually picked before they’re ripened, then gassed…I think apples are probably the worst since they’re covered in wax, but you cant go wrong with organic gala
Short story long…I’d go with a seed company because who knows what kind of crap the farmer used on those store bought ones. I bought some organic garlic to plant from the store, but garlic is pretty much cut and dry.

You can just remove the seeds and plant them. They’ll grow. But yes you can let them rot and save the seeds that way as well.
I have some soon to spoil store bought cherry tomatoes that instead of throwing out I want to use to grow more indoors.An article I read mentioned leaving some cherry tomatoes in a newspaper to spoil for a few days, then putting them in a pot covered with soil to grow.

I see you are using a tubberware container for your dirt. lol I don’t have any dirt inside, except for what’s in my plants. But, I thought that was kind of funny. Being I was raising a bunch of plants in mine outside. I have a tomatoe plant I am growing right now inside. I am glad I came upon this video. I just hope mine will be as nice as yours. (But, I won’t hold my breath) :o)

I have tried all those tapping… No Fruit..
Tap the flowers a few times daily. This will pollinate them. Unpollinated flowers will just drop off the plant.

It’s legal. Only certain plants are not allowed to be grown indoors. Here is a comprehensive list:

while not illegal,may raise suspicions……they can use infra-red cameras to see the heat in ya house and the light bills too…..be careful……….

It’s not illegal to grow plants indoors, ever see the infomercials for those junk kitcehn counter top hydro systems? It’s not illegal to grow tomatoes indoors, it is illegal to grow pot indoors which it sounds like is waht you are doing. DON”T DO IT!!!! As for the lighting your talking about that’s not very much lighting, you can’t grow anything with that little light. Also, a normal desktop computer takes about the same power as a 1000 watt light so that little bit of light your using woudln’t cause any suspicion. Also, cops aren’t allowed to use heat sensors randomly drivng around enighborhoods, they have to have probably cause.

you might want to put them on the floor instead of the shelf since tomato plants can get rather tall.
Police cant use sensors to detect the heat coming from the house. And why in world would tomatoes plants be illegal.
No, tomatoes are not illegal, lol. They probably raided the house that was growing xmas trees because trees are big and its against some ordinance.
Of course you can grow tomatoes indoors. But not everything. And yes, police can and do use thermal imaging to see whether or not you are farming large amounts or hemp.
