Question by : Do you consider Bloody Marys good just for hangovers? What do you add to the basics (tomato juice & Vodka)?
I’ve discovered that I really like Bloody Marys, but I’m wondering how much the tomato juice interferes with the alcohol effect. Also, what do you use in yours beside the essential ingredients to make yours extra good?

A REAL Bloody Mary has vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire Sauce, Hot Sauce (your choice) shaken over ice and garnished with a celery stick.

I’ve never thought the juice interferes with the alcohol at all. Use either a spicy Bloody Mary mix (Red Eye is good) or spicy V8. A little worcestershire, 1/2 tsp. raw horseradish, and a splash of either green olive juice or dill pickle juice. Rim the glass with celery salt. Garnish with a dill pickle spear, green olives, stalk of celery, whatever you like.
in mine i put vodka, tomato juice, worchestershire sauce, tabasco sauce, black pepper, celery salt, and a little bit of the juice that the olives come in. i serve it in a salt rimmed glass with olives and lime. if my bar had pickles or celery i would put those in there too.
We use vodka, V8, celery salt, black pepper, worcestershire sauce, tabasco sauce, and raw horseradish. Rim the glass with Lawry’s Seasoning salt and garnish with a celery stalk, lime, and 3 olives.
