Question by NAVY-DAN: Why are the bottom leaves on my tomato plants becoming lighter?
This is the first time for me to grow anything. The tomato plants are dark green and look healthy, but the branches at the bottom of the vine get lighter and lighter, so I just clip them off. It keeps happening to the bottom branches. I use a mulch mixture with soil and manure. Is this normal? What should I do?

It IS normal … and you should continue doing exactly what you’re doing.
All the nutrients and sunlight is being utilized by the upper leaves. It is normal. Removing the lower branches is good. That will provide air circulation to your plant and any tomatoes forming won’t be touching the ground that way.
