Question by Lily: How to get rid of underarm odor?
I take a shower mid-day, sometimes later and within 2 hours my underarms stink again. I wash the area very well and then apply baby powder to the area after I dry off. Even after I shave and do the baby powder it still stinks within 2 hours. And my deodorant which is supposed to last 12 hours only lasts for about 6 hours if I’m lucky. I’ve thought about soaking in tomato juice because I know it gets rid of the skunk smell but I would rather not do that if I can help it so I was wondering what else I could do?

Baking soda. It absorbs odor and moisture much better than baby powder.

Run lemon under your armpits cut a lime or lemon in half and run a half under each armpit or also put your deodorant and done baking soda I hope that helps
have you thought about having under arm hair removal done.. avon had a deodorant called Odyssey in a gray container that was good but now it’s in a white container n not so good.. also talk 2 your dr. an see what he reconmends, maybe he can take the gland out..
I have found that Mitchum is a great deodorant, and it really does work as long as it says (comes in mens and womens). Also, try showering at night and drying off completely under your arms and then apply your deodorant, you sweat less at night so it has an easier time getting into the pores and starting the process, making morning application more effective.
Be careful with the lemon/lime suggestion; it will get rid of bacteria and smells, but it can also make you itch or break out under your arms. That’s because citrus fruit is acidic and they act as a natural but strong exfoliant. Actually, just yesterday I mixed 1/2 a lemon with plain whole milk yogurt and smeared it all over my body, including under my arms. The yogurt is also acidic, but it contains natural lactic acid, and is an exfoliant, as well. I use that mixture every morning before I shower, but I don’t put it under my arms every time because it gets itchy and uncomfortable after I use deodorant. I allow the yogurt/lemon mix to dry and then use a mesh body sponge with liquid soap to remove it. I use a wet wash cloth to remove it from my face an and a wash cloth with soap on my private areas. This will remove all unpleasant smells from your entire body and will also make your skin super soft. If you use this under your arms and then apply deodorant, it may sting when you begin to sweat until your body gets used to it.
The other thing that may help is Secret deodorant. I sweat very easily and hate the odor. I’ve tried many, many deodorants over the years. The best one for me is Secret. Mitchum works for a while, then stops working for me. Other deodorants used to stop working for me after a few hours, too, and I’d end up totally embarrassed and stressed out. I would even suggest that guys try Secret because it’s really powerful and good. By the way, making sure that you don’t have hair under your arms may help. The best razor for shaving is Intuition. It has the moisturizing bar things that you pop in. I keep mine in the shower and run it under the water before shaving. I also allow water to run under my arms to soften any hair there before shaving. In the last 6 or 7 years of using Intuition, I may have cut myself 3 or 4 times. I used to cut myself almost every week with those regular plastic razors.
Trust me when I say that I only found out these solutions with many trials and errors. Thank God I found something that works, though, because I was feeling desperate before them. Hope some of this information helps you and happy 2013.
