Question by Jae: how much DRY quinoa does it take to make 7 oz cooked quinoa?
I thought I’d eaten too much b/c I had21 oz cooked quinoa…but don’t you measure calories by what it is dry, not wet? Plus it had olive oil and sundried tomatoes in it too, adding to the weight/

There seems to be quite a bit of variation with this. Some recommend a ratio of 1:2 (1 cup dry to make 2 cups cooked), others say it is 1:3 or 1:4. So 7 oz. could be roughly 2 or 3 oz. dry. But honestly, if you factor in olive oil and tomatoes, how do you expect anyone to provide an accurate estimate without having the actual food and analyzing it in a lab? Anyway, it’s just one meal.
