Question by BarfingWhale: when do i pick tomatoes?
my cherry tomatoes are starting to turn yellowish red. obviously you pick them when they are red. but i mean is the entire tomatoe supposed to be red then you pluck it or what?
last time i picked some tomatoes on my dads plant they were mostly red but still greenish at the top. not sure if i picked too soon or what they never did fully turn red even after i picked them.
also how do you store them? usually i put in the fridge but often they taste gross and i read somewhere if you do that it turns the sugars into starch or something causing it to taste weird rather then sweet

Hmm… Pick your tomatoes whne they are about the size of an orange. They should be all red but a little yellow doesnt hurt. Just put them in a cabinet or in a baggy in the fridge. Hope i helped. Good luck
They’re best when they are all red. Don’t wait for them to become the size of an orange, because they’re cherry tomatoes and they never will get that big. Anyway, if you’re not picking every day, then go ahead and pick ones that aren’t 100% deep red. I usually leave mine on the windowsill. They stay sweet and continue to ripen. They really are worth waiting until they’re completely deep red.
