Do you use this mix a single time, or is there a way to grow several times
with the same soil?
Here’s a tip: When making a video like this, include ALL the materials used
in the description, with volume, and price range. Would really help out.
They are called “grow bags”. Most hydroponic stores will have them.
@maldonvic Thank you. Accent? What accent? LOL Yea, that was pretty cool of
Donald. 😉
Are the tubs you use on your grow bags used for watering?
@mhpgardener Do you have a good tomato juice recipe you can share?
That has been mentioned, and would be a good idea. It would certainly speed
up the process.
Try mixing on a tarp, lay it out and dump all the parts on the tarp, then
grab the edges and pull it back and forth. You could do 3x as much at one
time that way. Thanks for your hard work
@emsapowell No I haven’t. I have seen and read about folks that used it
though, with success. I don’t recall ever seeing it for sale around here
though. Thank you mam !
@thereidss Ahhh, you caught me. I guess you already know that we keep a
good supply of laundry detergent plus Oxy Clean ! Thanks !
Can I use black cow compost ?
I’ve never done beans in a bucket. Because of the number needed for a
decent picking, I think they are better off in the ground. Your soil mix
sounds pretty good.
@mhpgardener I have hydroponic tomatos growing outdoors, I am in CA and
already had some cat facing on them. I guess I’ll have to build a green
house to keep it a bit warmer. We get coastal fog and the temp can drop
quite fast. Good luck with your plants. I wish I had the space to do what
you do!
Bell pepper sounds like a good choice.
@LadyGardenHoe LOL… productive, yes…seasoned, I’m a work in progress.
I’m looking forward to the fall and winter too with that mhp guy.
Sometimes I wonder if he hasn’t fallen and bumped his head !
@IllumTheMessage Thx for stopping by. And welcome aboard, glad to have ya.
😉
Sure. Just pay attention to the plants. You may need to add something for
nitrogen. I used it in place of my horse manure compost and it seemed to be
pretty low in nitrogen from the looks of the plants.
@sugerbear520 Thank you !
Interesting! I had no idea. It pays to ask questions!
Do you have any videos on how you start you seeds?
@saritasgarden Last winter, I did 3 and 5 gal growbags. I found out that
the 3 was too small for tomatoes. So I’m just using the 5 gal and those
buckets. Honestly though, I think I should step up to the 7 gal bags, cuz
these plants just develop a massive root system and run out of room. After
this run is over, I’ll do some root investigating and see what they look
like. Then I’ll make any necessary changes.
how much did you pay for that greenhouse
Yep, I can see where that would work out.
@TheOntarioGardener Thank you sir !
could you use this mix outside in a raised garden bed method?
