Question by rdegar72: Does anyone know why tomato plant leaves turn dark?
They have been producing tomatoes for about a month but have slowed up the last week or two. Also, I have another type of tomato plant in the same area and they are doing fine. Their leaves are green. Thanks.

It could be late blight. If it hasn’t effected the stem of the plant or the tomatoes, take off the dark leaves and sprinkle cornmeal around the base of the plant. Take a lot of your leaves off so that air can circulate through the plants and sun can get to the tomatoes. Also, when you water, water the roots. Try not to wet the leaves.
Blight is dried shriveled up leaves, gray and black spots on the stem, and the tomatoes, and sometimes the leaves are darkly discolored.
Do a search for late blight, so that you can see what it looks like. If you have had a lot of rain, wind, and little sun, it is the cause of it. It wasn’t enough sun to dry the water off of the plant.
