Question by BarfingWhale: do cherry tomatoes grow big?
i am growing some cherry tomatoes they are big red but they just started producing flowers. but my dad has been growing tomatoes 2 different varieties in a hydroponics system and i just noticed 1 is just like a regular cherry tomato i think it’s like sweet 100 or something while the other is HUGE. it looks like a roma tomato. it’s like the size of a golf ball and long. the plant itself isn’t very big though and i highly doubt he is growing some big varieties like beef stake as we don’t have the space for those.
so im wondering are these actually roma tomatoes or some other cherry type as i would like to grow one of them

There are tomatoes that are considered to be Cherry tomatoes that do get a little bit bigger then cherry tomatoes. They are probably about the size of ping pong balls. I had those last year and I know it was not a fluke because I planted them from a package. So, perhaps that is what your Dad has or it could be a different variety all together like I think that Early Girl tomatoes are about the size that you are describing.
