Question by babycakesmommy1952: How do I get too much sugar out of my soup?
I cooked some fresh ears of corn with sugar in the water (makes corn sweeter) I then used the corn water for a vegetable soup but it’s tastes too sweet. It’s on the stove now so help ASAP!!!!!! (I live in Florida that’s why we have fresh corn already)

What do you think? Answer below!
We’ve had fresh corn for weeks in Texas:) … corn on the cob should be cooked the very same day it’s picked. It loses its sweetness by 75% the following day. But, I’ve never heard of cooking it in sugar – real butter and salt seem to bring the flavor out just fine……. Potatoes help get salt out of water; but I don’t know if they work for sugar. I’ll bet a bunch of tomatoes would do it though! You usually need to add a bit of sugar to tomato sauce to counteract their acid, so you’ll be doing it backwards!
add more water or a can of tomatoes, either will help
perhaps dumplings would reduce the sugar
Add some salt.
A pinch of salt or add some more of the ingrediants that were are in the soup. Or even some chicken or beef base, wich ever you used in the original soup.
add a pinch of salt
